Home Made Gifts It Isn’t Too Late To Make

2nd Dec 2014

If you are stuck with what to buy someone then you should consider making a gift yourself. In fact, homemade gifts can also be a great way to give loved one presents if you are on a budget. With Christmas just around the corner you could be forgiven for thinking it is too late to make them for this season, but it isn’t. Of course you are limited on time and you probably can’t knock out 100s of gifts within the next few weeks, but you can make some gifts yourself

A jar of sweets is probably one of the easiest presents that you can make for someone. This makes them ideal for when you have run out of time and still need to make some gifts. If you have a number of people that you need to create jars for then  save time by doing them all at once.

A jar of sweets might not seem like the most exciting present ever, but it is up to you add some finishing touches. For starters you should choose nice looking sweets – lots of bright colours and items that look delicious. You should then finish the jar with ribbons, tags and other decorations.

If you want to go the extra mile then you can make baking jars – which are jars made up of ingredients to make festive treats.

Baked Goods

If you have a bit of a flair for baking then why not bake some festive goods for your loved ones? This can be a really fun project to have the whole family involved in with too. You don’t need to make anything extravagant; even Christmas biscuits can be a nice touch.

Much like the jar of sweets it really is down to finishing touches that you add. Wrap them in gift wrap, add a festive tag and write a nice message on the front. It’s only a small gift but people will appreciate the thought and time that has gone into creating them.

If you have more time on your hands then you could get the sewing machine out and get stitching (go here if you need to buy a machine). There are lots of places online that you can get patterns and inspiration on what to make.

A festive cushion is a good idea and is relatively easy to make. That said; you could make almost anything really – blankets, jumpers, Christmas decorations and much more. It is a little late to start something brand new if you don’t have any skills but what’s to stop you giving it a try?

You know your loved ones better than anyone else so you know the type of present that they are likely to enjoy. There are still a few weeks left until the big day, so there are no excuses for not at least trying to make something. With so many easy present ideas, what do you have to lose?
